What does "Erase DTC" mean?

When you erase the DTCs of the car, you completely clear them away. When you’ve erased a DTC it will not be indicated anymore if the malfunction of the car is fixed. If you have not fixed the malfunction of the car, but still erase the DTC, the car will indicate the malfunction again after a while and the same DTC will appear again.
